The 1900 Laboratories
In the late 1890s it was being increasingly realised that the future of the School hinged on improved science facilities: both the Technical School and the Higher Grade School in Huddersfield had excellent laboratories by this time. In 1900, new physics and chemistry laboratories - located at right angles to the old Science Lecture Room and Dorm 1 - were completed at a cost of £800. They survived until 1938/9 when they were replaced by the present two-storey building on the same site.
