The Old Almondburians' Society
The Old Almondburians
AMANDA TAYLOR (NÉE BRAWN) (1974-76)
Amanda Taylor was amongst the first girl intake when the School became, for a short period in the 1970s, a mixed-sex Sixth Form College. When she left King James's, she initially trained as a physiotherapist but later retrained as a building surveyor and is now a Principal Housing Regeneration and Development Officer.

Mandy has undertaken an extensive study of the life of Rev Francis Marshall, Headmaster of King James's from 1878-1896, who was also greatly involved in the world of Rugby Union and the 'split' that led to the formation of the Rugby League. She hopes in due course to complete a book about Rev Francis Marshall.

Mandy Taylor was the first-ever lady Chairman of the Old Almondburians' Society in 1990-1.
