The Old Almondburians
This Book of Remembrance is on display in the Library, recording the names of those who fell in World War II. The work of art master Edward Akroyd, its floral design incorporates the Yorkshire Rose in the same form in which it appears in his redesign of the School Crest. The Remembrance Book is open at the page recording the death of the Gaffer's son Marcus Dyson (pictured below), who attended King James's Grammar School from 1932-1934 before going on to Giggleswick School. He survived the War, having served for four years with his battalion in India as Lieutenant Marcus Dyson, but fell ill and died in a military hospital in Scotland on 6th February 1946.
