RULES

1. Any past or present pupil of King James’s School or Greenhead College under the age of 25 on 1st June 2012 shall be eligible to apply for the Bursary.

2. The closing date for applications is 30th June 2012 and the result will be announced at the Annual Dinner of The Old Almondburians ’ Society (‘the Society’) on 26th November 2012.

3. The project shall be completed by 24th November 2013.

4. No significant changes to the project after the Bursary has been awarded shall be made without the written consent of the Society which will manage the Bursary on behalf of, and in association with, the King James ’s School Foundation.

5. The recipient of the Bursary shall comply with any visa conditions laid down by the country/countries in which the project is undertaken, and with any legislation affecting the manner in which the project is carried out.

6. The recipient of the Bursary will acknowledge the grant in any publicity material or project report, and will supply such materials or reports to the Society on request.

7. The Society may use the name of the recipient and the name of the project in any publicity material the Society may produce on successful completion of the project.

8. The Bursary monies shall be fully expended before 26th November 2013. If not fully expended by that date, the unexpended balance shall be returned to the Society prior to that date.

9. The recipient of the Bursary shall produce and submit to the Society a full report on the project no later than 31st December 2013.

The aim of this single Bursary of up to £1,000 is to assist the applicant to fund a journey of exploration. Any past or present pupil of King James ’s School or Greenhead College under the age of 25 on 1st June 2012 will be eligible to apply. A requirement of the expedition is that it should be to a part of the world that would enable the applicant to offer help to those less fortunate than himself or herself.

The Bursary will be administered by The King James’s School Foundation, a registered charity.
