Once again, a thoroughly enjoyable evening was had by all who attended this year’s Reunion. Some 94 Old Almondburians and partners attended, enjoying the
opportunity to meet up with old friends to catch up and reminisce.
A team quiz helped those from class years with a low attendance to mingle with
other years in order to make up teams of four or five.
There was music from the ’50s, ’60s and ’70s, and the cricket club did a good job of keeping the spirit flowing with an
efficient bar service.Enlarged photos on the wall in the gym had everyone
pointing out themselves and their classmates, and the display of photo albums
was a big draw. But without a doubt, the main attraction was when we opened up
the old part of the school for a short while, with around 60 people visiting
the Big, Small, ODH and the old dormitories.
All in all, the event was a great success and we have plans for something more
on the lines of the last year
’s Disco Reunion Party next year for those who left the school between 1979 and
1989. The year after, we may organise a 1990-2010 leavers
’ party.
